A holistic approach to achieving health our lives involves considering our whole being and its needs for optimal health . Achieving this can involve lifestyle modifications, complementary therapies and sometimes medical interventions in pursuing physical and mental health, strength and wellbeing. Stresses and strains of modern living can deplete our inner resources, create imbalance and sometimes disease.

"A wonderful and professional service from which I received many benefits. Kathryn has clearly researched her subject and gave me answers to problems which were troubling me. She provides a calm atmosphere which makes her sessions very therapeutic. I wish her well for the future."

Thank you for visiting, about me

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read about me and why I think I have something to offer you. Primarily, my interest in reflexology grew as a result of a general interest in health and wellbeing as essential in enabling us to enjoy life to the fullest. Holistic therapies can play an important part in improving our quality life, they are , safe and effective practices, compliment modern healthcare and optimise our sense of wellbeing. Reflexology as part of this family, is valuable as an effective, painless, non intrusive therapy, suitable for young and old; and works to enable the body to achieve it’s full potential through relaxation and re balancing. It is an ancient form of healing and is thought to have originated in the East around 5000BC as one of the earliest forms of healing. It was then rediscovered by an ear nose and throat specialist, Dr Fitgerald, in 1930s as an effective form of natural pain relief. Since that time, reflexology has further developed and there are now many different forms and techniques along with studies supporting its efficacy. Reflexology is applied to hands or feet and can be delivered in many different settings and self help techniques are also easily taught. It is a very enjoyable therapy to receive and deeply relaxing which can also bring relief from a range of conditions. Reflexology works on the principal of optimising the body’s own resources and is compatible with conventional medicine whilst complimenting other therapies.

In studying the art of reflexology, I undertook a Diploma which included a University accredited course in Anatomy Physiology and Health. This enables me to consider the effects of medical conditions on the body and the specific reflex points to stimulate in order to optimise healing .Since completing this Diploma I have furthered my skill set with VRT (Vertical Reflex Therapy) which may help intransigent conditions especially muscular and joint issues including sports injuries and offering relief from period pain, sinus difficulties and cramps. This form of reflexology is suitable for all ages and all conditions.
I have also completed a course on nerve reflexology for neck, shoulder pain and lower back pain, which is used to address specific issues and more recently attended a course for reflexology lymph drainage which again benefits all conditions but can also be particularly effective for people suffering from lymphatic issues , for instance : lymphodemia secondary to breast cancer.

We are living longer, however, there are times in our lives when acute or long term health conditions can impede our wellbeing, reflexology can bring relief to many health conditions and increase range of movement whilst reducing pain. I have experience in working with diabetic conditions, stroke, allergies, chronic pain, asthma, sinus problems, stress, anxiety, mood disorders and a range of other conditions. .

Treatments are tailored to address individual needs and delivered at Casa Calma, Benimar. Home treatments are available on request including group taster sessions and corporate packages.

Prior to relocating to Costa Blanca I enjoyed a 20 year career in social work where I gained experience in a range of health challenges including mental illness and how these difficulties impact on quality of life. I also undertook further study in mental illness and have experience of working with a range of talking therapies.

Please contact me for further details or if you have any questions.
